Getting to Know the Author: A Personal Introduction

Welcome to my website MannyLambert.com! I am Manny and I'm thrilled to share my journey as an author with you. This is a new chapter in my life, one rooted in a lifelong love for books - especially Fantasy. As a kid, I devoured stories of epic adventures and magical worlds, which inspired me to start writing my own fantasy series, Guardians of Legend, in college. But life got busy and for over a decade my writing took a backseat. About a year ago everything changed. I dove back into writing with a purpose, determined to finish and publish my first Guardians of Legend book (currently in the editing phase). Then life threw me curveballs that I was not expecting.

My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal cancer which prompted my wife and I to move him and my nephew in with us to care for them. My dad fought bravely for 6 months, driven by his love for his grandkids and wanting to watch them grow up. Sadley my dad ended up passing away on Sept 30th, 2024. Heartbroken, I poured my energy into planning his celebration of life event to give him a proper send-off.

Soon after I faced another blow when I was laid off from my job of 14 years. While navigating grief and securing legal guardianship of my nephew (granted in June 2025), I reflected deeply on my path forward and what I wanted to do with my life moving forward.

That is when writing called me back. Alongside my fantasy series, I created the Magic Door, a fun children's book series inspired by the bedtime stories I would create for my two daughters. The first book in the series, Magic Door Dragons, is now available for purchase on Amazon as both an E-book and paperback (check out My Books section for the link). I am already hard at work crafting more stories to for that series that I will get out in the coming weeks and months before I return to editing my Guardians of Legend fantasy book.
